The Boys’ Brigade is a uniformed youth organisation that seeks to nurture Youths, based on Christian values, to serve and lead. Through various programmes and meaningful activities, and with volunteer adult leaders as role models and mentors, we guide our members in the learning of important values and build character.  If you are like-minded and believe in the potential of our young people, you could be the person we’re looking for.


ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
This Administrative Assistant is responsible for the general administrative needs of the office.  This will include the managing of our volunteer/alumni databases and emails, and receiving phone calls and visitors.

REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Diploma preferably in Business Administration
  • Possess good oral and written communications
  • Have good knowledge of computer software such as Outlook, Word, EXCEL, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisation and administrative skills
  • Meticulous
  • Pleasant, courteous and service oriented
  • An independent worker but also a team player working towards shared goals

EXECUTIVE (PROGRAMMES)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Programmes Department creates, develops and executes national events and activities for some 6,000 members in over 100 BB Companies across the nation. We drive national policies and rally over 700 volunteers to deliver programmes of the highest standards. We update curriculum and training methods as well as offer support to assigned volunteer committees in our endeavour to spearhead leading programmes at a national level.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree from a recognized university
  • Appreciation of youth trends and developments 
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organising skills
  • Able to work independently but also a team player working towards shared goals
  • Willing to put in extra time to work with volunteers on some evenings and Saturdays
  • Have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken
  • Have good computer skills (Email and MS Office)

EXECUTIVE (CORPORATE SERVICES)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Corporate Services Department is responsible for the building and facilities, the BB Shop (for equipping members), and Finance and Administration. This person will work with the Corporate Services team to provide support to these areas by assisting the head of department to ensure that processes and procedures are well established. The staff will also need to assist in managing vendors and inventory, and maintain the various governance manuals.

The staff will therefore need to:
  • Formulate, review and update policy and procedures of the department and the Brigade
  • Evaluate suppliers and vendors for the shop, purchasing inventory and ensuring quality of products and suitable inventory levels
  • Upgrade / integrate database platforms
  • Ensuring private data of members and volunteers are properly managed and protected
  • Work with IT vendor/contractors to ensure office IT is operating efficiently

RETAIL & SERVICES ASSOCIATE
As part of the Corporate Services Department, this person is a front-line staff attending to users' bookings and enquiries for our Boys' Brigade Campus and Sembawang Campsite facilities. The staff is also responsible for providing services at the BB Shop, which equips our members with their uniforms, awards, and resources. 

The staff will therefore need to:
- Respond to booking enquiries, reservation and confirmation by phone, email or fax for Facilities
- Perform campers' and users' check-in/check-out
- Ensure products are properly displayed in the Shop
- Maintain inventory and ensure items are in-stock in the Shop
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of the Shop
- Handle POS and cashiering activities
- Handle customer queries and feedback for both Facilities and Shop

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Recognised Diploma
  • Pleasant, courteous and service oriented
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Neat, organised and meticulous
  • An independent worker but also a team player working towards shared goals
  • Have computer skills (Email and MS Office)
