The Boys' Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade is a uniformed youth organisation that seeks to nurture Youths, based on Christian values, to serve and lead. Through various programmes and meaningful activities, and with volunteer adult leaders as role models and mentors, we guide our members in the learning of important values and build character.  If you are like-minded and believe in the potential of our young people, you could be the person we are looking for.

Executive (Stakeholder Engagement)

Responsibilities:

The Stakeholder Engagement Department strategises to engage the Brigade's various stakeholders, partners, donors and supporters, so that the Brigade and its BB Companies can operate well with its various partners and spread awareness of the Brigade's work.


The staff will therefore need to:
  • Manage quarterly BB News publications, engaging with stakeholders and/or external agencies to develop and craft articles
  • Capture stories of BB members for BB Motifs and Give2BB and utilise these for awareness and fundraising opportunities
  • Develop materials and resources for BB Companies as tools to recruit new members and volunteers
  • Coordinate and produce interviews, media releases, speeches, marketing collaterals, publications, videos and other promotional materials
  • Be responsible for timely social media updates and ensure content is accurate
  • Take the lead for social media content creation and documentation to engage with the target audience and provide relevant updates
  • Maintain the Heritage Timeline accurately
  • Coordinate Annual Report consolidation for submission

 

Requirements:
  • Possess a good university degree
  • Able to plan, organise and execute events
  • Appreciation of youth trends and developments and have a good knowledge of social media trends
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently but also a team player working towards shared goals
  • Willing to work with volunteers on some evenings and Saturdays
  • Have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken
  • Proficient is using computer softwares such as Team, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Planner and Canva
  • Creative and able to manage basic design tasks using Canva

EXECUTIVE (Programmes)

Responsibilities:

The Programmes Department creates, develop, and executes national events and activities for some 6,000 members in over 100 BB Companies across the nation.  We drive national policies and rally over 900 volunteers to deliver programmes of the highest standards.  We update curriculum and training methods, as well as offer support to assigned volunteer committees in our endeavour to spearhead leading programmes at a national level. 

 

The staff will therefore need to:
  • Ensure curriculum/badgework content is relevant, appealing, and well-resourced for all levels of membership
  • Develop new content for both in-person and virtual programmes/activities for members
  • Identify and engage new programme partners/providers to enhance programme offerings
  • Organise national level events, competitions, and award presentations
  • Organise national training and courses for Boys and Officers
  • Work with and support volunteers
  • Motivate BB units to strive towards excellence in utilising the BB Programme to develop children and youths

 

Requirements:
  • Managerial and staff supervision experience (for Manager position)
  • Possess Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree
  • Appreciation of youth trends and developments
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently but also a team player working towards shared goals
  • Willing to work with volunteers on some evenings and Saturdays
  • Have an excellent command of English both written and spoken
  • Proficient in using Email, MS Office, videoconference, and e-learning tools
