The Boys' Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore is a uniformed youth organisation that seeks to nurture Youths, based on Christian values, to serve and lead. Through various programmes and meaningful activities, and with Volunteer Adult Leaders (VALs) as role models and mentors, we guide our BB members in the learning of important values and build character. If you are like-minded and believe in the potential of our young people, you could be the person we are looking for.

Digital Media Content Producer

We are looking for a Digital Media Content Producer who is a creative storyteller with a passion for connecting with young people through digital content. In this role, you will manage the Brigade’s digital platforms, bringing our stories to life and playing a key role in shaping our online presence. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys finding and telling meaningful stories. You will be responsible to take ideas from concept to publication: identifying stories, developing creative concepts, storyboarding, filming, editing and publishing content across our digital platforms.

Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy & Planning
Develop and maintain a content calendar across relevant social media platforms.
Develop content themes, campaigns and creative concepts that support the Brigade’s objectives.
Identify opportunities to tell stories about our people, programmes, activities, impact and community.
Research current social media trends, formats and audience behaviours and identify opportunities for the Brigade to participate meaningfully.
Recommend new approaches and platforms where appropriate.
2. Storytelling & Content Production
Conduct interviews and gather stories, photographs and video footage.
Develop storyboards, scripts and creative concepts for video and other digital content.
Plan and conduct filming and photography at events and activities.
Produce short-form video content such as Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Edit video, photographs and other digital content for publication.
Create or coordinate the production of graphics, captions and other supporting content.
Repurpose existing content into formats suitable for different platforms.
Source and develop stories from within the Brigade and its community – BB Motifs.
Create content and publish our quarterly newsletter – BB News.
3. Social Media Management
Manage the Brigade’s social media channels and publishing schedule.
Write and edit captions, headlines and other social media copy.
Ensure content is appropriate, accurate and consistent with the Brigade’s identity and values.
Monitor audience engagement, comments and messages and coordinate responses where appropriate.
Monitor social media performance and provide regular insights and recommendations.
Keep up to date with changes in platform features, algorithms, trends and best practices.
4. Volunteer Content Team
Recruit, develop and coordinate a team of volunteers who support social media and content production.
Identify volunteers' strengths and allocate appropriate roles such as photography, videography, editing, graphic design, copywriting, social media management and content research.
Provide basic training, guidance and creative direction to volunteers.
Develop simple workflows, templates and guidelines to enable volunteers to contribute effectively.
Coordinate volunteers for events and content projects.
Build a sustainable volunteer pipeline so that content production does not depend entirely on one individual.
5. Collaboration & Organisational Engagement
Work with staff and volunteers across the Brigade to identify stories and content opportunities.
Attend relevant events and activities to capture content.
Advise teams on how their activities can be communicated effectively through digital channels.
Work with management to ensure that content supports the Brigade’s wider communication and outreach objectives.

Requirements:
Diploma in Mass Communication, Media & Communications, Digital Media, Media Production, Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications, Visual Communication, Film/Video Production or a related discipline.
Strong interest in social media, digital storytelling and content creation.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging digital content through school projects, internships, personal projects, freelance work, volunteer activities or other relevant experience.
Good understanding of major social media platforms and current content formats.
Experience producing short-form video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
Experience with video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or equivalent.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar design tools.
Basic knowledge of photography, lighting and audio recording.
Experience managing a social media account, content calendar or digital campaign.
A portfolio demonstrating previous content creation work.
Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance measurement.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Creative, curious and willing to experiment with new ideas and formats.
Able to work independently, manage deadlines and take a project from idea to completion.
Experience working with or coordinating volunteers, student groups, CCAs or project teams.
Able to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
Willing to put in extra time to work with volunteers on some evenings and Saturdays.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Relevant school projects, internships, freelance work, volunteer experience or personal content projects will be considered as relevant experience. Applicants are encouraged to submit a portfolio or examples of their work together with their application.
