Advanced Officers Training Course (AOTC)

What is this course all about?
The AOTC focuses on equipping participants with the skills needed to manage complex relationships and various leadership roles.

Who can attend?
Christians who are of age 21 and above, with approval from the Company Captain and Chaplain can attend the AOTC.

Senior Officers are strongly encouraged to attend the AOTC to widen their knowledge and skills as an Officer.

Other Requirements:
  1. Completion of the BOTC and enrolled as a 2nd Lieutenant.
  2. Completed their BOTC one year prior to AOTC.

What can I learn?
Core modules (Compulsory)

1. Basic governance of the BB II
Understand how the BB Constitution operates and how it affects you and your BB Company.
2. Managing differences
Learn how to manage relationships and handle the differences that arises from it. This is especially helpful when you work with stakeholders.
3. Creating learning experiences II
Building on the instructional skills, you will learn how to facilitate discussions and debriefs that are meaningful.
4. Leading Officers
Discover the mentoring process and how you can mentor fellow Officers.
5. Building teams I
Find out how to build and strengthen the teamwork within your Officer corps and maximise your role in it as a leader or member.
6. Building teams II: weekend challenge
Over a weekend, you will experience, learn and discuss more on the practical skills about teambuilding.
7. Managing a successful BB company
Discover how to make your BB Company more successful by sharing and learning the best practices of BB Companies.
8. Succession planning
Find out how to identify and groom a new generation of leaders for your Company.

 * All modules may be subject to change.


How is it run?
The course will be conducted over 3 weekends. Sessions are held on Saturdays.  A residential training weekend would also be conducted.


How do I complete it?
  1. For course completion, participants would have to attend ALL the core modules. Those who are unable to do so would have to make up for the modules they had missed.
  2. There is also an involvement in a Brigade level project. More details would be given during the course.

Attire: Day Dress
Course  Fee: $100 per pax. Fee includes meals and course materials.
