- Upon starting on your post-secondary education, you will:

Under the core curriculum of the Primers Programme conducted by the Brigade Office, you will be trained to perform as Adventure Instructors, Leadership Facilitators or Company Activities Facilitators.
Once you join the Primers Programme, you will enter into a new registered Primers Company and at the same time continue service in your former Company.
- The Primers Programme is based on the theme of "service and leadership" for those who fall within the age group of 16 – 18 years old. It primarily caters to:
- Boys who have participated in the Juniors and/or Seniors Programme
- Youths who did not have the opportunity to join the BB before
- The Primers Programme focuses on:
- Personal Development
- Service through leadership in the BB
- Service to the Community
- Boys leaving the Secondary schools are to continue their membership with The Boys’ Brigade through by joining the 2-year Primers Programme. A Boy can only continue his membership with the BB as a Primer when he leaves the Secondary school.
- Boys who are keen to join the Primers need to complete the Primers Registration Form duly signed and bring it down to the BBHQ by the end of the second week of January. Upon registration, the Primer is issued a record book in which he uses as a tracking document. The proper authority initials it whenever he attends a course or performs duty. In this way, the progress and career path of the Primer is properly recorded so that he may use this in his application for the highest award for the Primers Programme.
- Once you join the Primers Programme, you leave your Seniors Programme Company as a member and enter into a new Primers Company under your post-secondary educational institute e.g. Singapore, Ngee Ann and Nanyang Polytechnic Primers Company. If the educational institute you are in does not have a Primers Company, then you join the BBHQ Primers Company.
The Primer Programme aims to:
- Provide a meaningful and purposeful programme, using BB methods, for youth of BB age 16 to 18 years;
- Benefit Boys who may otherwise have outgrown the Senior Programme when they reach the BB age of 16 years;
- Benefit youth who desire to be trained as BB Officers even before they turn to the BB age of 18.
