The Boys’ Brigade is a uniformed youth organisation that seeks to nurture Youths, based on Christian values, to serve and lead. Through various programmes and meaningful activities, and with volunteer adult leaders as role models and mentors, we guide our members in the learning of important values and build character.  If you are like-minded and believe in the potential of our young people, you could be the person we’re looking for.

 

1. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

 

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the general administrative needs of the office.   This will include the managing of our volunteer/alumni databases and emails, and receiving phone calls and visitors.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Diploma preferably in Business Administration
  • Possess good oral and written communications
  • Have good knowledge of computer software such as Outlook, Word, EXCEL, and Powerpoint. 
  • Have strong organisation and administrative skills
  • Pleasant, courteous and service oriented.
  • Meticulous
  • An independent worker but also a team player working towards shared goals

 

 

2. EXECUTIVE (CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS)

 

The staff is responsible for developing and driving the Brigade’s communications plan and overall branding.  He or she will need to develop medial releases, speeches, marketing collaterals, publications, videos and other promotional materials. The staff will also be responsible for website and social media content.  

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Degree from a recognized university preferably in Communications, and/or related areas
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organising skills
  • Able to work independently but also a team player working towards shared goals
  • Willing to put in extra time to work with volunteers on some evenings and Saturdays
  • Have an excellent command of English both written and spoken.
  • Have good knowledge of computer software such as Word, EXCEL, and Powerpoint.

 

 

3.  EXECUTIVE (PROGRAMMES) 

 

The Programmes Department creates, develop and executes national events and activities for over 6,200 members in 117 BB Companies across the nation.  We drive national policies and rally over 700 volunteers to deliver programmes of the highest standards.  We update curriculum and training methods as well as offer support to assigned volunteer committees in our endeavour to spearhead leading programmes at a national level.  

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Diploma or Degree from a recognized university
  • Appreciation of youth trends and developments
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organising skills
  • Able to work independently but also a team player working towards shared goals
  • Willing to put in extra time to work with volunteers on some evenings and Saturdays
  • Have an excellent command of English both written and spoken.
  • Have good knowledge of computer software such as Word, EXCEL, and Powerpoint.

 

4.  SUPERVISOR (FACILITIES)

 

This person will work with the Corporate Services team to help ensure that The Boys’ Brigade Campus and Sembawang Campsite facilities are properly maintain and running smoothly which includes the offices, training and meeting rooms, and dormitories.  The person is also a frontline staff, attending to users’ bookings and enquiries. 

 

The staff will therefore need to:

  • Manage campsite wardens and general workers
  • Ensure routine maintenance of building and premises
  • Attend to mechanical and electrical breakdown of the building
  • Co-ordinate building's repair and maintenance works with contractors and vendors
  • Respond to booking enquiries, reservation and confirmation by phone, email or fax
  • Handle customer queries and feedback
  • Perform campers check- in / check out
  • Support volunteer committees responsible for the management of the facilities

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess at least GCE ‘O’ Levels or recognised Diploma / Certification in relevant field
  • Experience in facilities management would be advantageous
  • Have good knowledge of computer software such as Outlook, Word, EXCEL, and Powerpoint. 
  • Neat, organised and meticulous
  • Pleasant, courteous and service oriented
  • An independent worker but also a team player working towards shared goals
