The BB Pipes and Drums Festival is primarily a Pipe Band Competition designed for BB Companies (both internationally and locally), as well as pipe bands in Singapore, to pit their skills against one another.

Our endeavour is to enhance the appreciation of the Pipes and Drums music and culture in Singapore. For the past 4 years, we have worked in collaboration with the Singapore St Andrew's Society to make it a community event to promote the Scottish heritage that we have inherited as well.

Event Report

The 6th BB Pipes and Drums Festival was successfully held at *scape Somerset Skate Park on 5 July 2008. We were pleased this year to have almost 100 participants from 6 BB companies (the 12BR, 12I, 18th, 31st, 58th & 60th Singapore Companies), as well as participants from the 79th Singapore Company of The Girls’ Brigade, the 2nd Penang Company of The Boys’ Brigade, and the Military Band from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent).

We were honoured to have Mr Seah Kian Peng, Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC, as our Guest-of-Honour. Joining us at the event were Ms Elspeth Town, Chieftain of the Singapore St. Andrew’s Society, and Mr Greg Gordon, President of Pipe Bands Australia.
