Over the weekend of 17 to 18 October, a total of 203 Officers, made up of 50 new Officers in the midst of completing their BOTC and 153 regular Officers attended the Annual Officers’ Retreat held at Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel.
Community of Practices
Officers were split into Communities of Practice groups focused on Mentoring, Leadership & Life Skills, Parents & Family Involvement and Service Learning.
A long discussion calls for a sumptuous lunch!
StrengthsFinder and Recreational Workshops
The 4-hour long StrengthsFinder workshop was conducted for all BOTC Officers as well as regular Officers who were interested to discover more about themselves and others.
The other Officers had the opportunity to attend a recreational workshop of their choice – Ukulele and Song Writing, Basic Mixed Martial Arts, Show Tricks and Techniques.

Dr Tan Lai Yong, Director of Community Engagement, College of Alice and Peter Tan, spoke to Officers on the restoring relationships between people and God, especially for those communities and individuals who live at the margins of society.
The two-day retreat ended with a time of prayer as one Brigade, praying for the young leaders, Brigade Executive and staff, teachers and all Officers.
We hope that the Annual Officers’ Retreat was a time of rejuvenation for all our new and regular Officers as they continue the work of this ministry.
