On 23 March 2015, Singaporeans woke up to the devastating news of the passing of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first Prime Minister. Along with the rest of our nation, The Boys’ Brigade mourned over the loss of our founding father.
Out of the 18 community tribute sites, the Brigade decided to head down to the tribute site at The People’s Association Headquarters on 26 March, over at Jalan Besar, a place that the BB holds a special memory of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew. The Brigade had the privilege to have Mr Lee Kuan Yew graced the Battalion Review and Display in 1966 and it was held in the old Victoria School grounds where The People’s Association Headquarters now stands.

Boys, Primers, Officers, Brigade Executive and members of the BB alumni took turns to sign the condolence book at The People’s Association Headquarters Tribute Site
Close to 80 BB members and 30 BB alumni stood silently in front of the picture of the late Mr Lee while 2LT Ong Wey Shi played to the tune of “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipe.
A letter of condolence penned by our Brigade President, Prof Ho Yew Kee on behalf of the Brigade was laid alongside a wreath by the BB Alumni in the sea of flowers and notes.
Thank you all who took time to join us at the tribute site.
