The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift (BBSG) 2014 Media Conference was held on 6 November at Chef Lab, yo:HA@Jurong. The BBSG project is in its 27th year of bringing joy and cheer to beneficiaries during the Christmas season. With revamped food hampers that better cater to the changing needs of the beneficiaries, the project aims to help 35, 845 beneficiaries in Singapore this year. This move to revamp the hampers was made after reviews with social workers earlier, to see how the donations can better serve the beneficiaries.
It was heartening to see the smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries from Asia Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) as they got their specific Christmas wishes granted. Some of which includes a high-cut boots for 13-year-old Ahmad, a bicycle for 11-year-old Muhammad Ridwan, and a science educational book for 10-year-old Louis Neo.
Our friends from AWWA were then treated to some Trampoline fun at the Amped Trampoline Park with guidance from experienced coaches. For many, it is the first time they find themselves jumping on the trampolines.
