The 79th Annual General Meeting of The Boys’ Brigade was held on 23 November 2012 at the BB Campus.
To begin the meeting, the Brigade Colours were marched in followed by a time of praise and worship led by Mr Leroy
Mortimer from the 36th Singapore Company.
Brigade Chaplain then shared from 2 Timothy 4:6-8, encouraging the Officers to be prepared to make sacrifices and to never give up on their ministry in The Boys’ Brigade.
Mr Tan Kok Heng, who will be stepping down as Brigade President at the end of the year then gave his opening address to the Council. Mr Tan addressed the 13 years he has served in the Brigade, saying that though many sacrifices had to be made, he has enjoyed and has many fond memories in his time of service.
This was followed by a financial update by the Brigade Treasurer, Mr Chong Loi Foong and an update to summarise the happenings and events of the year by Executive Director, Mr Desmond Koh.
The Office Bearers for 2013/2014 were elected by the Council and the dedication service was conducted for the Brigade President-Elect, the Brigade Executive and Brigade Office Staff.
Brigade President-Elect, Dr Ho Yew Kee, addressed the Council stating that was a great honor and privilege to be able to serve The Brigade in the capacity of Brigade President. A handover ceremony was then conducted, witnessed by our Honorary President, LG (Ret) Winston Choo. The Brigade Colours were passed from outgoing Brigade President, Mr Tan Kok Heng to newly elected Brigade President, Dr Ho Yew Kee.
The meeting closed with tokens of appreciation presented to Mr Tan Kok Heng and Mr Tye Yew Meng by LG(Ret) Winston Choo to thank and recognise them for the many years of service they have contributed to the Brigade.
