The Boys' Brigade Share-a-Gift (BBSG) 2012 Media Conference was held at AWWA Family Service Centre, Towner Road. This year, the BBSG project celebrates its 25th anniversary of promoting the spirit of caring and giving across Singapore. In celebration of its Silver Jubilee, the high-profile, large-scale community service project aims to bring Christmas joy to a record number of 30, 285 beneficiaries.
During the conference, BBSG and Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (Pte) Limited made some beneficiaries very happy by fulfilling their specific wishes. The project allows beneficiaries falling into four categories (elderly, children, special needs and family) to make requests for particular items that would benefit them. The wishes fulfilled that day included an armchair for Mdm Koo, a backpack and stationery for 9-year-old Xander, and family zoo tickets with accessories to go for 9 year old Rashyqah.
It was certainly heartening to see the smiles on the beneficiaries as they received their wishes. Members of the public will also get their chance to spread the festive cheer by fulfilling wishes when the project officially opens on 20 Nov.
