Keeping in Step
Ninety officers made their way across to the Le Grandeur Palm Resort in Malaysia for the Boys’ Brigade’s Annual Officers’ Retreat for a time of reflection and planning for the new year. The theme for this year’s AOR was Keeping in Step. To kick start the event, Brigade President, Mr Tan Kok Heng, delivered an opening address.
Our Training Committee Chairman, Mr Wesley Cheong, updated the Officers on the work-in-progress for the Committee for the year 2012, followed by ice-breaker games.
Mr Darren Huang and his team from 12BR Company led the Officers for a time of worship. Brigade Chaplain, Rev Malcolm Tan, joined us for the occasion by sharing with us on the importance of Keeping in Step with God and His Ministry.
Day 2 started with an energizing session of drumming. Officers were dazzled by the wide array of musical instruments which the facilitators had brought with them. Officers were actively engaged in a variety of activities using drums, tubes and tambourines. At the end of the session, officers separated into small groups to compose their own song with the new skills that they had garnered. It was indeed a novel and exciting experience.
It was indeed an enjoyable time for Officers to relax, fellowship and reflect about the coming year ahead!
